The WNBA has seen a flurry of its players signing with offseason basketball leagues, and now Marine Johannes has joined that list. The New York Liberty star has signed a multiyear deal to play in Unrivaled’s third season, the three-on-three league announced Monday.

“I’ve heard so many great things about the league, and I can’t wait to be part of it, meet my new teammates, and experience everything Unrivaled has to offer,” Johannes said in a statement.

“I’m incredibly excited to join Unrivaled for next season! It’s a unique opportunity to compete alongside some of the best players in the world,” Johannes’ statement continued.

The French native is currently putting up 9.7 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game with the Liberty this campaign. Before joining the Unrivaled league, Johannes spent her last offseason in 2025-26 with the Turkish club Galatasaray. She averaged 8.8 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.0 boards during the regular season.

Johannes has a storied professional career outside of the W. She became a EuroCup champion and Finals MVP in 2023, and she helped the French national team claim two Olympic medals this decade, winning in both the 2020 and 2024 Games.

The 31-year-old, who’s well-known for her shooting skills from beyond the arc, ranked second in 3-pointers made and was the only player to notch five 3s in multiple games during France’s 2024 Olympic run, earning her team a silver medal. Johannes will now be taking those talents to Unrivaled.
