LSU Sends Angel Reese Message After Chicago Sky’s 11th Defeat

It’s been a rough start to the season for Tyler Marsh and the Chicago Sky. On Friday night, they battled hard on the road against Golden State but came up short, losing 83-78 to the Valkyries.

That marked the Sky’s 11th loss in 15 games, leaving them near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings; only Connecticut has fared worse so far.

Still, there was a bright spot. Angel Reese delivered another impressive performance. The second-year forward out of LSU racked up 17 points and 18 rebounds, notching her third straight double-double and 10th of the season.

After the game, the Tigers showed love to their former star, posting: "Nothing new for our double-double queens tonight."

Over her last three games, Reese is averaging 15 points and 18 rebounds. While she shot just 7-for-16 from the field against the Valkyries, she made both free throws and connected on one of two 3-point attempts.

Reese played at LSU from 2022-24, helping the Tigers win the national title in 2023. She earned tournament Most Outstanding Player honors under head coach Kim Mulkey during that historic run.

LSU also recognized the performance of another former Tiger, Aneesah Morrow. She transferred to LSU for the 2023-24 season after two dominant years at DePaul. She led the nation in rebounding twice, first at DePaul (13.8 rpg) in 2021-22 and then at LSU (13.5 rpg) in 2024-25.

Morrow was selected seventh overall by the Connecticut Sun in the 2025 WNBA Draft. While the Sun have struggled this season, Morrow shined in Friday’s 97-81 loss to the Seattle Storm, coming off the bench to post 20 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes, a season-high in playing time and her first career WNBA double-double.

Both Reese and Morrow are proving they belong at the next level, even as their teams continue to search for wins.
