With concern in the air over Napheesa Collier leaving Saturday's game with an injury, the Minnesota Lynx have jolted the WNBA Sunday by announcing a trade with the Dallas Wings for standout guard DiJonai Carrington.

For Carrington, the Lynx are sending Dallas Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson and a 2027 second-round draft picks.

Carrington, 27, is a 5-foot-11 guard who is averaging 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season. She received the WNBA's Most Improved Player award in 2024 and was selected to the WNBA All-Defensive First Team.

Miller was Minnesota's first-round pick, No. 2 overall, in 2023. She started all 32 games and averaged 12.1 points per game as a rookie, but she's averaged about 10 minutes per game while coming off the bench the past two seasons.

Samuelson is averaging 3.3 points in a reserve role this season.

Collier suffered a right ankle injury in Minnesota's record-setting, 53-point win over the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. Head coach Cheryl Reeve said the MVP candidate would undergo testing, and the severity of her injury isn't yet known.

Carrington will likely make her Lynx debut Tuesday night at Seattle.
