The Lynx will get the opportunity to defend their Commissioner's Cup championship after taking down the Aces 76-62 in dominant fashion on Tuesday, but there's concern about star forward Napheesa Collier's health after she left the game with a back injury.
Behind a game-high 20 points from guard Courtney Williams and a double-double from Alanna Smith, Minnesota cruised to an easy victory on Tuesday against Las Vegas, which was without star forward A'ja Wilson.
It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for the Lynx, as Collier left early in the third quarter with an apparent back injury and did not return. Head coach Cheryl Reeve did not provide an update after the game, but they will have three days off before their next regular-season game against the Sparks.
Collier is leading the league in scoring this season with 24.4 points per game, and she has established herself as the favorite for MVP.
Minnesota won the fourth iteration of the mid-season WNBA Commissioner's Cup last season, and they will get to defend their crown against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
