The Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm meet in the WNBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 10:00 p.m. ET at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. The game will broadcast live on FDSN.

The Storm are 2-point favorites over the Lynx on the spread (Storm -2), with the over/under set at 156.5 total points. Seattle is a -130 favorite to win outright, while Minnesota is +110 to pull off the upset.

Let’s get into my Lynx vs. Storm predictions and WNBA picks for Tuesday, August 5.

Lynx vs. Storm Odds, Pick

  • Lynx vs. Storm Spread: Storm -2 (-110)
  • Lynx vs. Storm Over/Under: 156.5 total points
  • Lynx vs. Storm Moneyline: Lynx +110, Storm -130
  • Lynx vs. Storm Best Bet: Erica Wheeler Under 13.5 Points + Assists (-125)

The Lynx face off against the Storm on Tuesday night in a showdown between two playoff contenders.

The main storyline is that Napheesa Collier will miss tonight’s game along with the next couple of weeks after turning her ankle in a game the Lynx led by 40 points late in the third quarter.

She’s the clear MVP at this point in the season and she cannot be replaced for this Lynx team.

On the plus side, Dijonai Carrington is expected to  make her debut for the Lynx after she was acquired from the Dallas Wings for Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson and Minnesota’s 2027 second round pick.

She will provide a defensive boost while also contributing as a secondary scorer and facilitator.

Looking at the Storm, Erica Wheeler has a tough matchup tonight. Minnesota has been strong against opposing guards with 71% of guards going under their PA lines in their last 20 games.

Wheeler’s PA is set at 13.5, a number she’s only hit in 48% of games this season.

She crushed this number in one game against the Lynx this season. However, she shot far above expectation and her 9 assists were the most she’s had this entire season.

She would need to replicate that great performance in a game which should be defensive minded and played at a slower pace.

The Lynx are at a disadvantage without Collier. However, they are not helpless here.

This matchup against the Storm should be a grind and my lean is towards the under.

As a result, I’m fine playing the Wheeler prop.

Best Bet: Erica Wheeler Under 13.5 Points + Assists
