Minnesota Lynx: Napheesa Collier Takes Subtle Shot At 2024 WNBA Finals Refs In ‘Gut-Wrenching’ Post

It’s hard to imagine the Minnesota Lynx already being over their tough loss in Game 5 of the 2024 WNBA Finals at the hands of the New York Liberty . With how that game concluded, Napheesa Collier and the Lynx will be feeling the pain for at least a little longer.

Napheesa Collier shares emotional post after Minnesota Lynxh’s loss in the 2024 WNBA Finals

In an Instagram post following the Lynx’s Sunday loss to the Liberty, Collier expressed her true feelings about the season that was for her team. Collier posted a series of photos taken during the duration of the 2024 WNBA Finals, including one at the end of the slide that can be interpreted as a subtle shot at the WNBA Finals refs. That last picture showed the controversial moment where Lynx forward got called for a foul on Liberty star Breanna Stewart.

Of course, that foul led to a pair of made free throws by Stewart that tied the game with five seconds left in the fourth quarter. Without that foul, the game likely wouldn’t have gone to overtime and the Lynx would have been crowned as the 2024 WNBA champions.

“Gut wrenching end to an incredible season,” Collier shared in her post. “I have loved every minute of being around this team, I love you guys sm you have made this the most incredible year Huge thank you to our coaches and staff, you guys are so amazing. And thanks to all the fans for supporting us this season, we’ll be back.

Despite the loss in Game 5, the Lynx undeniably had a brilliant run. Collier, who was named the 2024 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, finished her sixth season in the league with averages of 20.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists through 34 games.
