Thanks to the great play of Napheesa Collier and Jessica Shepard, the Minnesota Lynx are now on the top of the WNBA rankings mountain early this season.
The Lynx have started their WNBA season off to a hot start with two straight victories. Collier has 57 points in those two games, while Shepard has grabbed 18 rebounds and Courtney Williams has dished out 19 assists.
Is this the year Napheesa Collier wins MVP?

Napheesa Collier put up 57 points across Minnesota's first two outings of the season. The most for the Lynx since Maya Moore scored 67 PTS to start the 2014 season. Moore was named league MVP that year pic.twitter.com/cg3WbBB9zG
With this start, Minnesota wants to get back to the WNBA Finals this season in the worst way. They will play rookie Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings on Wednesday and the Connecticut Sun on Friday.
Meanwhile, the New York Liberty, who were the preseason No. 1 in the WNBA Rankings, according to ESPN, just slipped down to No. 2. The Liberty picked up their WNBA Championship rings and opened their season with a 92-78 win over Las Vegas.
Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with 25 points in the victory. But New York has a couple of tough road challenges this week, going up against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Thursday and Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Saturday.
Speaking of the Fever, Clark and her teammates find themselves in the No. 3 spot. Clark had a triple-double in Indiana's 93-58 victory over the Sky.

Of course, Clark was in the middle of a confrontation with Reese after a hard foul near the basket. That just added more fuel to the fire between both players, despite Clark downplaying the moment after the game.
Washington, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Connecticut, Chicago and Golden State round out the rest of this list. It will be interesting to see how much these teams move up in the WNBA rankings over the season. Maybe those teams can vault into the top three some upset victories.
