After blowing by Golden State 72-53 in Thursday night's regular-season finale, the Minnesota Lynx are now officially locked into a first-round playoff series against the Valkryies.

A couple of milestones were reached by the Lynx in the win.

  1. Final record of 34-10 tied the single-season wins record set by the 2023 Las Vegas Aces
  2. Napheesa Collier became the second player in WNBA history to finish the season shooting at least 50% from the field, 40% from three-point range, and 90% from the free-throw line

Minnesota swept Golden State 4-0 in the regular season, setting the stage for the Lynx to enter the best-of-three first-round playoff series as a heavy favorite.

The series begins with Game 1 Sunday at 12 p.m. CT at Target Center in Minneapolis. Game 2 is at 9 p.m. CT at Golden State. If Game 3 is necessary, it will be Friday, Sept. 19 in Minneapolis, though a start time has yet to be announced.

All three games will be televised on ESPN.

If the Lynx advance to the second round, they'll meet the winner of the 4-5 matchup between the Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty.

On the other side of the bracket, the No. 2 Aces, who have won a league record 16 consecutive games, will face No. 7 Seattle in the first round. The third-seeded Atlanta Dream will take on the No. 6 Indiana Fever in Round 1.
