Morgan State University is replacing women's basketball coach Ed Davis Jr, who led the Lady Bears over the past nine seasons with 120 wins, the third winningest coach in program history. His tenure included five winning seasons in Baltimore.

Today marks a new day for MSU with the introduction of their new Lady Bears head coach Nadine Domond who comes from Virginia State University, where she has led the Lady Trojans to back-to-back 20-win seasons and historic success, including their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament.

Domond’s 2024–25 campaign included a 23-7 record, a CIAA Northern Division title, and a CIAA Championship Game berth. Her defensive-minded teams ranked 16th nationally in opponent field goal percentage (35.1%) and allowed only 60 points per game.

In recognition of her leadership, she was named CIAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Year and the HBCU All-Stars Lonnie Bartley NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year. She started as a graduate assistant at Hampton University, with a stops at Grambling State University, where she became Coach of the Year to Rutgers University as an assistant coach.

Domond will bring her coaching and WNBA playing experience to build this Lady Bears basketball program to compete within the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). They need to give her time to build the program, and they will see the fruit of her hard work with the team she puts on the court.
