Myisha Hines-Allen Upgraded to Available for Dallas Wings Ahead of Matchup Against Connecticut Sun

Dallas Wings forward Myisha Hines-Allen has been upgraded to available for Tuesday’s matchup against the Connecticut Sun after previously being listed as questionable with an ankle injury.

Hines-Allen participated in the team’s shootaround at Mohegan Sun Arena and will remain in the starting lineup as the Wings (0–4) look to secure their first win of the season.

The 6-foot-1 veteran has started all four games this season at center, averaging 6.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.0 blocks in 23.0 minutes per game. She played just under 17 minutes in Saturday’s 83–75 loss to the Atlanta Dream and was limited in practice the following day, spending most of the open session on a stationary bike.

Head coach Chris Koclanes has leaned on Hines-Allen’s poise and presence amid a rotation filled with new additions, including rookies and offseason acquisitions.

“Myisha has been a good presence, a solid veteran presence, and a good voice—a lighthearted voice, yet a stern one,” Koclanes told DallasHoopsJournal.com before the team’s loss in Atlanta. “Paige [Bueckers], as a rookie, is finding her spots and opportunities to be in front of the team as a whole. But even more so, individually behind the scenes, being who she is and doing what she does to get everyone on the same page.”

Had Hines-Allen been unavailable, the Wings would have needed to reconfigure their frontcourt rotation. Teaira McCowan, who has yet to appear this season due to injury, remains out. That left Dallas with potential options, including Luisa Geiselsöder or a small-ball alignment with Maddy Siegrist sliding into the frontcourt alongside NaLyssa Smith.

Instead, the Wings will move forward with their established starting group intact for a pivotal contest against a Connecticut team also searching for its first win of the season. Both teams enter the matchup 0–4, intensifying the urgency for a breakthrough performance.

Tipoff between the Wings and Sun is set for 6 p.m. CT Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena. The game will air locally on KFAA 29 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and stream nationally via WNBA League Pass.
