The Indiana Fever were set to face the Washington Mystics on Wednesday at CFG Bank Arena. Stephanie White would be eyeing her team’s third victory after its loss to the New York Liberty, but things just got more difficult following the unfortunate news on Monday.
Caitlin Clark, the star point guard in White’s arsenal, suffered a leg injury. The details of her injury were not disclosed.
"Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has suffered a left quadriceps strain and will be out a minimum of two weeks, the team announced today. Further updates will be provided, as available, following re-evaluation." Indiana wrote on their official page.
As things stand, she will also be unavailable for the home matchup against Washington on June 3.
On Friday, the Connecticut Sun will face Indiana at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where White will again have to manage without her star.
Her absence will be a major loss against rookie duo Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, who are in fine form. The pair posted 25 points, four assists, and 14 rebounds on Sunday against the Mercury.

Indiana came close to winning against Sabrina Ionescu’s dominant Liberty, who had bested A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces and Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky before facing Clark.
Though New York secured the win, Clark and Aliyah Boston put up a huge fight. Two minutes into the fourth quarter, the Fever led by 12, a lead they later squandered due to defensive lapses.
Citron and Iriafen won’t go easy on Indiana either. They had a tough game against Satou Sabally and Alyssa Thomas of Mercury on Sunday, but will bring their A-game against a big opponent like Indiana.
