The Washington Mystics host the Indiana Fever at the CFG Bank Arena on Wednesday for their first matchup of the 2025 WNBA season. The arena was packed with fans to witness the regular-season game, even though Caitlin Clark was sidelined leading up to the contest. Clark could miss at least two weeks due to a  quad injury, and the game against the Mystics is the first game she has missed this year.

One of the people who watched the game live was Mystics owner, Ted Leonsis. The owner sat by the courtside to watch his WNBA franchise take on the league's hottest team.

Leonsis was excited to watch the Mystics host the Fever. He expressed his thoughts on X and highlighted the team's strong start to the season.

"Twenty years since purchasing the @WashMystics, and I couldn’t be more fired up to be in Baltimore as they take on the Indiana Fever! " Leonsis posted. "This season is off to a strong start, and the future of the @WNBA has never been brighter."

The Mystics have a 2-3 record to start the new campaign. The team has a bright future with the young players they drafted, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. Citron has been off to an excellent start in her first year, averaging 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Iriafen has also left a lasting impression with how she's played. The rookie is averaging 13.8 points and 11.2 rebounds. The former USC forward joined a historic list of rookies (Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Satou Sabally) to record three consecutive double-doubles.

Leonsis sees a bright future with the current Mystics group and expects the team to be successful.
