The Washington Mystics had a 91-88 overtime victory on Sunday against the Dallas Wings. The Mystics' rookie, Sonia Citron, had one of the best games of her career. She led Washington with 27 points and 11 rebounds, a career-high for both points and rebounds. The rookie star added two assists, two steals and a block.

It was a must-see battle between the two rookies, Citron and Paige Bueckers. The Wings' rookie had 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists on 41.2% shooting from the field. Both first-year players are among the favorites to win the 2025 Rookie of the Year.

In their first meeting, Citron emerged victorious and topped it off with a game-winning 3-pointer.

After securing the win, the Mystics' X account took a shot at the Wings.

"Couldn't think of any dub puns. Guess we'll just wing it," the Mystics posted.

Citron shot 57.1% from deep and broke down the final play that sealed the game.

"Credit to my teammates, Shakira [Austin] was getting doubled and she found me and I've been struggling from the three, so I was just hoping it went in," Citron said. "I was just happy that it went in."

"That's just a credit to who we are as people. We're just very selfless; you want to get the best shot possible. It doesn't matter who shoots it, it's a credit to who we are."

Citron's fellow rookie, Kiki Iriafen, also had a great outing. Iriafen had 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. The next time they'll face the Wings will be on Saturday, June 28, at the College Park Center.
