When the Indiana Fever take the court Saturday to open the 2025 WNBA season, they’ll look noticeably different from a year ago. Still led by Caitlin Clark, who averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists in her rookie season, the Fever now have a deeper, more experienced roster.

Veterans like Sophie Cunningham, DeWanna Bonner, Brianna Turner and Natasha Howard were added in the offseason, bringing leadership and toughness to a core that already includes Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.

The Fever not only made roster changes but also brought in a new head coach after parting ways with Christie Sides. Stephanie White is now in charge after spending the last two seasons with the Connecticut Sun.

Over the past few weeks, White has been leading practices and coaching preseason games as she gets the Fever ready for the new season. In the process, she’s already gotten a firsthand look at how mature Clark is, despite being in just her second year in the WNBA.

White recently admitted to ESPN's Alexa Philippou that Clark is "far beyond her years."

"She's far beyond her years in terms of her understanding of how to work," White said. "Oftentimes, you see rookies, even the great ones, where it usually takes three years for them to figure it out. She's got it figured out."

Clark’s rookie year was nothing short of historic. She earned Rookie of the Year honors, made the All-Star team and All-WNBA First Team, led the league in assists and even finished in the top five in MVP voting.

Now, as she enters her second season, Clark is the current betting favorite to win MVP. According to ESPN Bet , she’s listed at +200, just ahead of Aces star A’ja Wilson (+225) and Lynx forward Napheesa Collier (+300).
