The Atlanta Dream wrapped their WNBA preseason games on Saturday in an 81-76 loss against the Indiana Fever. The Dream showcased their newest star, Brittney Griner, who was on the floor for a limited time.
Griner played for only two minutes and had three points and a rebound. The frontcourt star opted to sit out for the remainder of the game for rest. Although the 10-time WNBA All-Star didn't stay on the floor for long, she still had a wholesome moment with Caitlin Clark.
Her interaction with the 2024 Rookie of the Year caught the attention of fans. It was a simple handshake as the two smiled at each other. The photo was posted on X and has gone viral since then.

Clark played 23 minutes with 13 points and seven assists. Fans are excited to see how her sophomore season will look.
In the past, Griner has spoken highly of Clark. Last season, the former Phoenix Mercury star revealed that she understands the stardom that the Fever star experienced. Especially when the former Iowa star entered the WNBA with his expectations.
"I can only imagine what it's like for her," Griner said. "She probably can't even go to the grocery store and get her own groceries. I've experienced that before, and it's a lot."
Similar to Clark, Griner was the top pick in 2013 and immediately made an impact by becoming an All-Star. There was a ton of expectation for the former Baylor standout coming into the league.
Fortunately for Griner, she exceeded expectations and has been a consistent All-Star and defensive stalwart.
