The Indiana Fever will advance to the WNBA, which was last pulled off by the franchise 15 years ago. With the victory, the team recalled the doubts they received coming into the first round of the playoffs.
In a social media post , the Indiana Fever recalled the general climate of the odds and predictions, mostly by ESPN analysts, that predicted that they would drop off of the first round. Most analysts have boldly stated “Dream in 2,” which was that the Atlanta Dream would beat the Fever 2-0.
In the post, the Fever simply did a call back to their preseason slogan and said, “Now you know.”

Indiana’s WNBA playoff run reached its highest point in a decade Thursday night, when the sixth-seeded Fever edged the third-seeded Atlanta Dream 87–85 to claim their first semifinal berth under the current first-round format.
Plagued by injuries to five key players during the regular season, Indiana embraced coach Stephanie White’s mantra of viewing setbacks as opportunities. Despite entering the postseason as heavy underdogs, the Fever became the first lower seed in three years to advance, setting up a semifinal clash with the No. 2 Las Vegas Aces.
Indiana Fever’s decisive 87–85 victory over Atlanta in the winner-take-all Game 3 of their first-round series epitomized the team’s underdog resolve. With the clock winding down and his team trailing by one, head coach Stephanie White admitted she wrestled with the idea of calling a timeout.
“It was, ‘Do I call a time-out? Do I call a time-out? Do I call a time-out?’” White said. “But we had them in rotation, you know, we had them scrambling and, you know, the hustle play for Kels to be able to keep the ball alive, and then O to be able to see AB loose was huge.”
On the defensive end, Lexie Hull sealed the stunned Dream’s fate. After Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard inbounded toward center Brittney Griner, Hull anticipated the bounce pass, snatched the ball, and sprinted downcourt.
“(Austin Kelly), our assistant, drew up a play he thought they’d run, and it was really close to what they ended up running,” Hull said. “Especially with such a short amount of time on the clock, like we knew they were gonna try to get it into Bri Jones. I just saw the ball bounce, and it was my opportunity.”
Should the Indiana Fever make the season championship, it would be their first championship since 2012.
