Even though it's the WNBA offseason, Angel Reese has managed to keep busy, whether it be playing in the Unrivaled basketball league, or hosting her own podcast "Unapologetically Angel."
During one of her free moments recently, though, she ended up rediscovering an old picture of her mother, Angel Reese (Webb).
Reese starred as a rookie with the Sky, averaging 13.6 points and a league-leading 13.1 rebounds per game in her first season. While it wasn't always smooth sailing from Reese, she revealed that she received some strong words from WNBA legend Lisa Leslie that helped her burst onto the scene.
"I remember you called me and were like, ‘You are ready for the WNBA. No matter what anybody tells you, you will play in the WNBA and you will succeed. The skill, everything will transition over,'" Reese said on the latest episode of "Unapologetically Angel."
While getting advice and help from Leslie was great from Reese, she learned how to play the game from her mother, who played basketball at the collegiate level for the UMBC Retrievers. That didn't stop Reese from roasting her own mother when an old photo of her resurfaced on social media recently.
"Period Ma! not the BANYANGGGG," Reese said in response to a post on X, formerly Twitter, from the UMBC Athletics account shouting out her mother.

Among all her off-court endeavors, Reese's main focus over the offseason has involved her working on her own game to help the Sky find their way into the playoffs after they missed out in 2024.
For now, though, things remain quiet for Reese, as she will continue to focus on suiting up for the Rose Basketball Club in the Unrivaled league while continuing her podcast.
And when all else fails, she may just resort to roasting her mother on social media.
