Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings are beginning to turn things around in the 2025 WNBA season, aiming for their second winning streak of the year as they host the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday.
Despite missing five games during her rookie season due to a concussion and illness, Bueckers has already become arguably the Wings' best player. Averaging 18.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists, the former UConn star recently earned her first WNBA Rookie of the Month Award.
But Bueckers has received another top WNBA honor, earning a spot in the starting lineup for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. Starting spots were voted on by fans (50% of the vote), the media (25%) and players (25%).
Among guards, Bueckers ranked fifth in media voting and fourth in player voting. She finished second in fan voting at her position, earning 805,471 votes , trailing only Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who set a new record with 1,293,526 fan votes.
However, Bueckers managed to break one of Clark’s own marks. With her 2025 total, she now holds the record for the most All-Star fan votes by a rookie in WNBA history, surpassing Clark’s 2024 total of 700,735.
The other All-Star captain is Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, who received the second-most fan votes with 1,176,020.

The announcement of the 12 All-Star reserves will be revealed on July 6 at noon ET. After that, Clark and Collier will draft their respective teams during the WNBA All-Star Game draft on July 8.
The All-Star Game will take place on July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN. In last year's All-Star game, Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale won the MVP award. Could Bueckers do the same this year?
