The Dallas Wings faced off against the Connecticut Sun, looking to climb outside of the bottom of the WNBA standings.
Dallas entered a game against the Sun as the No. 13 ranked team in the WNBA with a 2-11 record. Despite the rough start, the Wings had a chance to spark a win streak, coming off a win over the Golden State Valkyries.
On Friday, as the Wings and Sun were matching up in Connecticut, things got slightly out of hand for rookie Paige Bueckers.
The young star for Dallas picked up the first technical foul of her career. Bueckers pulled for a midrange shot on the baseline. Just after sinking in the shot, she turned to the referee and clapped, with the announcer mentioning that the rookie thought she got fouled during the play.
The referee was quick to temporarily stop the game. He turned to the scorers table and gave Bueckers a technical foul, marking the first technical foul of her young career.
