Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers has been settling into life in the WNBA after having been the first pick of the 2025 draft last month. Training camp is well into its second week, the preseason slate is underway and the team held its media day this week.
Bueckers, after leading the UConn women's team to a national championship last season, is expected to help turn around a Wings franchise that bottomed out at 9-31 last year and subsequently overhauled the roster.
She's spoken extensively about team chemistry since then, which will be a key factor for a Dallas team that has added pieces like defensive stopper DiJonai Carrington and shooter Ty Harris, as well as post players NaLyssa Smith and Myisha Hines-Allen.
"We're all friends, we're all cool in the basketball world, so obviously when you're on the same team you’re closer, but it's really fun. I think chemistry, like you said, it is very underrated part of basketball," Bueckers told The Wings Bulletin on Substack.
But this week, many of the questions focused on Bueckers herself--including a revealing question about the three things she can't live without. (Answer at just after 2:00.)
"Three things I can't live without, definitely my faith, my family/friends--that's going to count as (number) two," Bueckers said. "And then No. 3 would probably be my iPad."
Mom and Dad and God all make sense. But the iPad?
"Everything is on my iPad," she said, smiling. "My life is on my iPad. Mostly, I just watch basketball, watch shows. Color sometimes. That's about it."
