It was a familiar scene for Paige Bueckers, standing on the court at Mohegan Sun Arena on Tuesday, this time donning a Dallas Wings jersey rather than UConn blue.

The Wings entered Uncasville on a four-game losing streak, seeking their first win against another winless team, Connecticut Sun.

The Wings processed to secure their first victory of the 2025 WNBA season with a commanding 109-87 triumph over the Sun.

Leading the way was Bueckers, who poured in 21 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals on 8-of-10 shooting from the field.

In the process, she became the first player in WNBA history with 60 points and 30 assists through her first five games.

At UConn, Bueckers amassed a resume that included a 2025 national championship and numerous individual honors.

In her final season with the Huskies, she averaged 19.9 points, 4.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals across 38 games, en route to her first NCAA title.

Chosen first overall by the Wings in the 2025 WNBA Draft, she entered the league amid massive hype.

In her debut on May 16, she scored 10 points with seven rebounds. She put up a 19-point, eight-assist, and six-rebound stat line against the Seattle Storm on May 19.

In her third game, she notched her first double-double with 12 points and 10 assists, becoming one of just three rookies to hit that mark within their first three games.

On Tuesday, Bueckers notched a career-high scoring output with 21 points in the Wings' first regular-season win.
