Through the first two months of her rookie campaign, Paige Bueckers has stood out not just for her scoring and playmaking but for her adaptability amid a constantly shifting lineup.

The former UConn Huskies superstar has been the most consistent thread in a patchwork Dallas Wings roster that has endured trades, injuries and short‑term contracts.

"It’s been kind of fun to adjust and get to play with new people," Bueckers said Wednesday when asked about playing with so many different lineups.

"It’s kind of like pickup. ... You're just picking people up, tying your shoes and going out there and playing. So it's been fun in that aspect to get to know new people, to build new relationships, to play with new people."

Since the season tipped off, Dallas has been one of the league’s busiest teams.

On Feb. 2, they completed a four‑team deal to bring in DiJonai Carrington, Tyasha Harris, NaLyssa Smith, the rights to Mikiah Herbert Harrigan and a 2025 first‑round pick.

In training camp, the Wings inked Kaila Charles, Joyner Holmes, Luisa Geiselsoder, Mai Yamamoto, Herbert Harrigan and McKenzie Forbes, then exercised Maddy Siegrist’s option.

Following this, the team waived or suspended contracts for Holmes, Geiselsoder (EuroBasket) and Teaira McCowan (EuroBasket).

More recently, Dallas acquired 6-foot-7 center Li Yueru from the Seattle Storm in exchange for 2026 second- and 2027 third‑round picks, and on Monday, they traded Smith to the Las Vegas Aces for a 2027 first‑round draft pick, all in service of reshaping the roster around its rookie star.

Through 13 games this season, Bueckers has averaged 18.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest, leading the Wings in scoring, assists and steals per game.

That production has come with added pressure, however, leading a roster that's in constant flux.
