Paige Bueckers won her first WNBA game tonight against the Connecticut Sun. She posted a career-high 21 points, with five rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block.
This was her first time back as a Dallas player to the familiar place where she spent four years playing for the UConn Huskies. She had plenty to say about her former teammates who were in the stands after the win.
"They're great, I love them...just to have their support...they're a huge part of my story...just extremely grateful for their support. Just to have them here means everything to me," she said.
"I don't think I ever lost here, so I was trying to carry that into here tonight," Bueckers added.
The Wings recorded four straight losses before finally turning things around. Bueckers expressed that the losses never really affected her.
"I can't remember but there's no time like the present...I've never really reflected on that, really wouldn't want to," she said.
Dallas posted 109 total points against Connecticut, which is the highest team total thus far in the regular season.

"It felt great just to play like that as a team...obviously that environment is special to me...it felt good to be out there," Bueckers said. "When we share the ball like that...it creates a lot of open looks for us."
Bueckers set quite a few records on Saturday, becoming the first player in league history to reach 60 points with 30 assists in five games. She also joined Temeka Johnson as the only rookies with a 20/5/5 game while shooting at an 80 field-goal percentage.
