ARLINGTON — The Phoenix Mercury look to shake off Sunday’s loss and look for another win streak as they visit the Dallas Wings on Thursday at College Park Center.
Phoenix Preview
The Mercury come off a tough loss against the Las Vegas Aces, 84-81, on June 29. Although Phoenix took an early 21-15 lead after the first quarter, Las Vegas battled back to tie it up going into halftime, 40-40.
Momentum swung back and forth in the second half but the game was ultimately decided in the final 22 seconds when A’ja Wilson hit the go-ahead shot to lift the Aces to victory. The loss ended the Mercury’s six-game win streak.
Alyssa Thomas had 16 points with seven rebounds and eight assists for Phoenix.
Despite the loss, the Mercury continue to hold second in the Western Conference with a 12-5 record.
Dallas Preview
The Wings defeated the Washington Mystics, 79-71, on June 28. Dallas quickly took a 28-9 lead after the first quarter, shooting 61.1% as a team. The Mystics couldn’t erase the first-quarter deficit and the Wings took a 45-31 lead after the first half.
The Mystics tried to catch up, at one point only down by two points, but the Wings continued to shoot to keep increasing their lead. The Wings led by 15 points at one point in the fourth quarter.
JJ Quinerly and Aziaha James led the scoring for Dallas with 15 points each.
The Wings are 5-13 and are seventh in the Western Conference.

The last time Phoenix and Dallas met was on June 11 at PHX Arena, where Phoenix took a 93-80 win.
