PHOENIX — The Phoenix Mercury has signed Haley Jones to a hardship contract, according to a press release from the team on June 1.
The hardship contract will enable Jones to remain in the desert for the remainder of the season. The former Standford player was a sixth overall draft pick in 2023 by the Atlanta Dream and played in all 40 games for the Dream. She was released during the preseason this year.
During her time with Atlanta in 2024, Jones averaged 3.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

Jones made her Mercury debut agaisnt the Los Angeles Sparks later in the day after signing, driving in a layup in her four minutes of action in the win.
