This past Sunday, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever took the court at Iowa's Carver-Hawkeye Arena for a WNBA preseason matchup against the Brazilian women's national team.

As the WNBA's No. 1 overall pick in 2024, Clark shattered countless TV viewership and attendance records throughout her Rookie of the Year campaign. And as she now enters Year 2, it appears that trend will continue.

On Tuesday, ESPN announced its TV viewership numbers for Sunday's preseason game.

The Fever's 108-44 win over Brazil drew an average of 1.3 million viewers with a peak of 1.6 million. These numbers mark a 13% increase over the average regular-season WNBA game in 2024.

ESPN analyst Rebecca Lobo, who was on the call for this preseason game, added some eye-opening context in response to this announcement.

"Context: Since 2010, only two NBA preseason games outrated this game. 10/10/18 – Warriors/Lakers @KingJames first game in LA 2.02M 10/10/17 – Bulls/Cavs (LeBron again) 1.37M," Lobo wrote on X.

Clark did not disappoint the millions of viewers tuned in for Sunday's preseason contest. The All-Star point guard added yet another outstanding clip to her already-impressive career highlight reel, knocking down a logo three pointer from behind the spot where she set the NCAA's all-time scoring record.

"It's hard to put it into words what exactly it means to me," Clark said after the game. "It's almost overwhelming. I'm just very thankful to come back to a place that continues to support me."

Clark and the Fever will tipoff their 2025 regular-season schedule with a highly-anticipated matchup against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on May 17. That contest at Indiana's Gainbridge Fieldhouse will no doubt bring in even more impressive TV viewership numbers.
