On Saturday, the Barclays Center rafters in Brooklyn welcomed the very first championship banner in New York Liberty history, just before the team tipped off its 2025 season opener against the Las Vegas Aces.

Moments after the green banner slowly ascended above a sold-out crowd of 17,344 fans, each member of the championship squad received a commemorative ring.

On Monday, two days after the on-court celebration, star point guard Sabrina Ionescu took to Instagram to share a captionless slideshow of photographs from the ring and banner ceremony.

In a series of polished images, she showcased her new championship ring and offered close-ups of the raised banner, letting the visuals speak for themselves.

At just 27 years old, Ionescu has already amassed one of the strongest resumes in women's basketball.

A native of Walnut Creek, California, she was the first overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft out of the University of Oregon, where she became the NCAA’s all-time leader in triple-doubles and earned nearly every major award in women’s college basketball, including the AP Player of the Year, John R. Wooden Award, and Naismith College Player of the Year in 2020.

In her pro career, Ionescu has been named to three consecutive WNBA All-Star teams (2022-2024), earned All-WNBA Second Team honors three times (2022-2024), and was the Three-Point Shootout champion in 2023.

Yet until this past October, that storied career lacked one crowning achievement: a WNBA championship ring.

Now, Ionescu and the Liberty transition from ring ceremony to title defense, with their second game of the season coming on Thursday against the Chicago Sky.
