The Chicago Sky now have a 3-10 record during the 2025 WNBA season after Sunday's 93 to 80 defeat at the hands of the 10-4 Atlanta Dream. Chicago has lost six of its last seven games, as well as three straight.
Ariel Atkins led the way for the Sky, scoring a season-high 29 points and adding six rebounds. 2024 WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese scored 10 points and grabbed a season-high 19 rebounds while also chipping in four assists and three steals.
Veteran center Elizabeth Williams also added a season-best 16 points and hauled in five rebounds, but Chicago's offensive effort was not enough. Atlanta shot 48.5% from the three-point line and the Sky gave up 90 or more points for the seventh time in 2025 (via ESPN).
Before Sunday's contest against the Dream, Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally sent a message to Sky rookie guard Hailey Van Lith.
Sabally posted a picture of Van Lith guarding her during the June 21 matchup between Phoenix and Chicago and added a seven-word message on her Instagram story.
"Keep going Killa, noise makes you better @haileyvanlith," Sabally wrote.
Van Lith only played eight minutes in Sunday's loss to the Dream after playing 21 minutes or more in three consecutive contests. She pitched in just two points after scoring four or more in six straight games.
Sabally has been enjoying a career year in her first season with the Mercury, averaging career-bests with 19.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
The Sky will play again on Tuesday, as they host the 4-10 Los Angeles Sparks at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.
