The Indiana Fever got their free agency started with a bang, bringing back former first-round pick Natasha Howard. Sure enough, Indiana fans and Howard's peers absolutely loved the move.
In fact, even All-Star forward Satou Sabally couldn't help but comment on the decision.
On Friday, it was revealed that Howard, a three-time WNBA champion, two-time All-Star and one-time Defensive Player of the Year, is returning to the Fever as a free agent. She was drafted by Indiana with the fifth overall pick in 2014, but she lasted just two seasons with the team before being traded.
After news of her decision surfaced, Howard took to Instagram to all but confirm her move. She posted a couple of photos of herself, including one from her draft night, along with the caption, "Back to where all my dreams came true #fevernation."
Sabally, for her part, commented on the post and wrote, "Love this."
It's worth noting that Howard had been teammates with Sabally on the Dallas Wings for the last two seasons.
For what it's worth, Fever fans tried to recruit Satou Sabally in the same post, with the replies in her comment section asking her to come to Indiana as well.
Unfortunately for Fever fans, just hours later, Sabally was traded to the Phoenix Mercury. Even more surprising for Indiana, though, was the fact that the team was involved in facilitating the deal.
The Fever got Sophie Cunningham and the No. 19 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft after trading away NaLyssa Smith and the No. 8 pick, as Sabally headed to the Mercury.
Regardless, Sabally clearly loved Indiana's signing of Howard.
