Angel Reese continues to dominate the WNBA landscape, currently playing in her second season with the Chicago Sky

While Reese has gained traction for her play on the court, she's also made some major moves outside of the white lines.

On Wednesday, Reese was involved in a major announcement regarding the WNBA and NBA communities.

The Sky star has officially been named the cover athlete for NBA2K26 WNBA edition. The viral video game network released a photo of its protected cover with Reese, showcasing the Chicago forward in action.

Following the announcement, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal reposted a photo on social media with a caption that read, "Angel Reese named NBA2K26 cover athlete for 'WNBA edition,' not Caitlin Clark."

O'Neal and Reese's connection goes back to her college days with the LSU Tigers. The former NBA star is an alum of the university and supported Reese throughout her time with the Tigers.

O'Neal even walked Reese, alongside her family members, for her senior game at LSU.

As she continues her WNBA journey, O'Neal has been in Reese's corner, supporting the Chicago Sky star over the past two seasons.

Throughout her second season with the Chicago Sky, Angel Reese has posted 13.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

Reese was recently named a WNBA All-Star and will be part of Team Collier, having been selected by Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier in the WNBA All-Star Game draft.

She will also take the floor alongside several other WNBA stars, including Breanna Stewart and Paige Bueckers.
