Sophie Cunningham clearly has zero patience left for online trolls.

Sophie Cunningham walked straight into the culture-war crosshairs the moment she spoke out against trans women competing in women’s sports. The fallout was immediate, as some fans championed her for speaking up, while critics slammed the comments as harmful and out of touch.

Ever since, the spotlight on her hasn’t dimmed for a second. Now that she’s become a household name outside of just WNBA hoops, every single thing she does gets treated like a statement.

We even saw adults dressing up as Cunningham for Halloween, and now she’s being invited to events at NASCAR and Formula 1, which is a clear sign of her growth.

Sophie Cunningham shares a message for online comments

Sophie Cunningham had a clear message for the haters on Instagram, dropping a classic Mike Tyson quote right onto her story.

It said: “Social media made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting p****** in the face for it.”

She pulled back the curtain on the scarier side of internet fame during a chat on Theo Von’s podcast, revealing that the FBI is actively tracking around 20 individuals over serious safety and stalking threats against her.

That dark reality tracks with how crazy her online numbers have become, having gone past four million followers to actually eclipse Caitlin Clark on Instagram. What’s crazier is the crowd driving that surge, as roughly 65% of her audience is male.

It’s a massive outlier compared to standard WNBA demographics, proving her brand has completely crossed over from hoops into chaotic internet fandom.
