The Indiana Fever signed guard Sophie Cunningham in 2025 to pair her with stars Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell as part of a revamped roster. Cunningham quickly became a fan favorite, known for her physical defense and versatility on both ends of the floor.

She started multiple games before suffering a season-ending MCL tear in August, requiring surgery and shutting her down for the remainder of the season. While her contributions on the court were valuable, Cunningham has also grown her profile off the court.

Her presence on social media and fan engagement has made her one of the most visible Fever players. She currently hosts a podcast, “Show Me Something” with West Wilson, and interacts regularly with fans on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and X.

Her lively personality and candid commentary have made her a social media favorite and have kept her in the public eye during the offseason.

As she continues to recover from injury and enjoy her break from basketball action, Cunningham provided an update to her fans on Friday.

In an Instagram Q&A, she was asked if she will attend the upcoming Waste Management Phoenix Open and confirmed her plans to be at the event.

“I’ll 100% be there,” Cunningham said. “Fun fact, I was supposed to play in the ProAm but said no because I didn’t know where my knee would be…. Next year? .”

Cunningham has had a longstanding connection to golf . She and teammate Lexie Hull most recently joined Clark at the Annika LPGA Pro-Am as guest caddies back in November.

Cunningham’s latest update comes as her future in Indiana remains a hot topic. Her one-year contract with the Fever expired after the 2025 season, making her an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

While both parties have shown no signs that they are heading for a divorce, Cunningham’s next move could be influenced by the ongoing CBA negotiations, which could also impact the 2026 WNBA season.
