Sophie Cunningham turned heads on Sunday for her physical appearance at the F1 Grand Prix. The Indiana Fever guard attended the event in Austin, Texas, wearing a cowboy-inspired outfit and waved the chequered flag. She posted photos on Instagram on Monday from the event and announced a move away from basketball.
The Fever started their offseason earlier than they wanted. They reached the playoffs as the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 28-16 record. Cunningham and Co. aced the Las Vegas Aces in the first round and pushed the series to a winner-take-all Game 3 on Oct. 1. However, they lost 94-83, failing to dethrone the defending champions.
The 30-year-old will enter unrestricted free agency by the end of the season. She will likely draw interest from other teams around the WNBA but could return to Indiana if the team extends a new offer to her.
Cunningham uploaded 10 photos, featuring her outfit and announcing that she has partnered with Tecovas. The brand designs and sells handcrafted cowboy boots, Western-style apparel, hats and leather accessories.
The veteran guard wore a brown, halter-style sleeveless top with a draped neckline and a cropped, jagged hem. She paired it with brown leather pants with a straight-leg fit and light beige cowboy hat. Cunningham completed her look with black cowboy boots and a black handbag.

Cunningham continues to expand her portfolio with her latest partnership. She also has endorsement deals with Adidas, Arby’s and Quest Nutrition, among others.
It’s going to be a busy offseason for her and the Fever. Big decisions will be made, and her future with the franchise will be determined depending on roster construction and offers she receives. Cunningham has proven her ability to contribute in different ways, including those that do not appear on stat sheets.
