In a spirited road contest on Friday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, the Indiana Fever rallied past the Dallas Wings, 94-86, fueled by a dominant performance from veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell.
Mitchell led all scorers with a season-high 32 points, along with seven assists and three rebounds in 34 minutes.
Even without Caitlin Clark, the Wings were overwhelmed early as Indiana raced out to a 20‑point lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back.
As Mitchell addressed reporters during her postgame interview, teammate Sophie Cunningham suddenly appeared in frame, playfully leaning in beside her.
Mitchell, focused on her comments, offered no reaction.
After the game, Cunningham took to her Instagram story to share the clip with the caption, "@kelz_hoop just love me already," poking fun at Mitchell’s stone‑cold reaction.
Cunningham entered the WNBA as a second‑round pick (13th overall) by the Phoenix Mercury in 2019 after a decorated four‑year career at Missouri.
After six seasons in Phoenix, she was traded to Indiana earlier this year and has since established herself as a reliable role player for the Fever, averaging 5.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1 steal in 22.2 minutes per game.
Mitchell, on the other hand, was the Fever’s second overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft out of Ohio State, where she earned four USBWA All‑American nods and Big Ten Player of the Year honors in 2017.
She was a member of the WNBA All‑Rookie Team in 2018, is a two‑time All‑Star and currently second in franchise history in both total points (4,194) and 3‑pointers made (559).
Currently, Mitchell is averaging 18.9 points, leading Indiana, alongside 2.9 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game.
