Short kings will unfortunately be out of luck when it comes to Sophie Cunningham.
The Indiana Fever guard Cunningham revealed her No. 1 dating rule during a recent episode of her “Show Me Something” podcast. Cunningham shared that she will not date a man who is shorter than her.
“I could never date someone shorter than me,” said Cunningham, per The Daily Mail. “Because I’m already big. So I want someone who is going to make me feel smaller.
“But there are so many guys who have taller girls!” Cunningham added. “I think people have really good energy, and I love so many people. [But] I just can’t. I would just feel like the man in my relationship.”
Cunningham, 29, became a fan favorite last season for the Fever after gaining a reputation as an enforcer for superstar teammate Caitlin Clark. While she only averaged 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game overall, Cunningham has quickly developed a very loyal following.
Meanwhile, Cunningham stands 6-foot-1, so it sounds like she is looking for someone who is at least 6-foot-2 or taller. That is actually a somewhat common stance among WNBA players as Angel Reese also once revealed that she has a very similar dating preference.
