On another note, Sophie Cunningham was pictured in a sweet moment meeting Derrick Nillissen, former Phoenix Mercury employee. Nillissen and Cunningham worked together during their time at the Mercury team when he worked as part of the coaching team in 2020.

Cunningham seems to have great relationships with the former employees of the Phoenix Mercury, despite being accused recently of having had a romantic relationship with the CEO of the Phoenix Mercury, Josh Bartelstein. Bartelstein is also the CEO of the Phoenix Suns in the NBA.

The rumors came to light last month and Cunningham has every bit denied it, admitting that the allegations have hurt her incredibly. The rumors were not taken lightly by fans, especially since Bartelstein is married and has children. After the reports started circulating, Sophie Cunningham revealed that she was never enlightened about the allegations and was never consulted before the news went to print. The news came to light through a lawsuit which was filed by former Phoenix Mercury employee, Gene Taylor.
