It's safe to say that Sophie Cunningham isn't quite as passionate about golf as her Indiana Fever teammate Caitlin Clark is. At the very least, she hasn't put quite as much work into her swing as Clark and a few golf fans learned that the hard way.
The Caitlin Clark Pro-Am is going on this week and Cunningham was one of Clark's many guests at her golf tournament. She was paired with Clark at the start and the two tried to amp up the crowd.
Clark was able to hit her tee shot onto the fairway, much to the delight of the crowd. Cunningham had a little less luck on the tee. After trying to get the crowd going and making a decent practice swing, she made her tee shot and ripped the ball - right into the crowd.
Caitlin Clark stripes it up the fairway on 10, then Sophie Cunningham hits her drive into the crowd.

Most celebrities that make a swing like that would get ripped pretty mercilessly, but Cunningham is so likeable that not even diehard golf fans were willing to crush her for it:
"Soph is so awesome," one user remarked.
"Where people choose to stand during a pro am never ceases to amaze me," another remarked.
"Iād happily let Sophie hit me with a golf ball," a third joked.
2025 was a memorable year for Cunningham on and off the field. She made a meaningful impact for the Indiana Fever after being acquired earlier in 2025. She played 30 games (with 13 starts) and averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in about 25.2 minutes per game. Her shooting efficiency was strong: she posted a .469 field goal percentage, .432 three-point percentage, and .875 free-throw percentage. She also contributed defensively and on the glass in a supporting role for a Fever team that had several injuries and roster rotation needs. Her role became especially important as the team navigated missing key players.
However, her season was cut short by injury. On August 19, reports confirmed that she had suffered a season-ending MCL tear, removing her from the remainder of the campaign. Despite the early exit, she provided notable moments ā for example scoring 16 points (10 of them before halftime) in a game on August 9.
