The eagerly anticipated Commissioner's Cup Final between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx could tip off without one of its star attractions.
According to Fever head coach Stephanie White, Caitlin Clark continues to struggle with a groin injury that has cost her the past two games.
The Fever's official injury report lists Clark as "questionable" against the Lynx. Speaking to reporters, White left open the possibility that Indiana's star guard would not play for the Commissioner's Cup.
"We’ll see what happens as we go through shootaround," White said at Fever shootaround from Target Center in Minneapolis. "Again, I think the most important thing for us is the big picture.”

After a notably injury-free NCAA career and rookie season in the WNBA, Clark has missed seven of Indiana's 16 games this season as she battles through physical ailments.
Clark missed three weeks after she picked up a left quadriceps strain on May 26. On June 24, she suffered a groin strain during a win over the Seattle Storm. The Fever have a 3-4 record in the games Clark has missed, and Indiana is 8-8 overall after entering the season with championship expectations.
There is little doubt that the uncertainty regarding Clark's status explains in part why the Fever enter Tuesday's game as 6.5-point underdogs against the Lynx. Led by MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier, Minnesota boasts a WNBA-best 14-2 record, and it owns a perfect 8-0 record at home.
In nine games this season, Clark is averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.9 assists. Before her groin injury, the former Iowa sharpshooter and NCAA career points record-holder had missed 22 of her past 23 attempts from 3-point range.
