The Indiana Fever snapped a 16-game losing streak against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday with a commanding 81-54 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, all while star point guard Caitlin Clark watched from the bench.
The win improved the Fever’s record to 9-8 as they jockey for position in the WNBA Eastern Conference playoff race.
Coach Stephanie White addressed Clark’s availability for Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks during a Friday-morning press conference.
White said Clark has been participating in semi-live shooting drills and informal three-on-three work on her own but has not yet resumed full-speed practice or group defensive sessions.
White noted that Clark "is not a fan of minutes restrictions" and that any return would be made after evaluating her status again following Saturday’s shootaround, emphasizing prioritizing Clark’s long‑term health to ensure she returns fully ready to compete.

Clark has been sidelined since June 24 due to a left groin injury, marking her fourth consecutive game missed and her ninth absence overall this season. The Commissioner's Cup title game she missed Tuesday doesn't count as an official regular-season contest.
Earlier, on May 24, Clark suffered a left quadriceps strain that kept her out for two weeks before she returned with a 32‑point, eight‑rebound, nine‑assist performance against the New York Liberty on June 14.
The groin issue reemerged mere weeks later, prompting the team to rule her out on a day‑to‑day basis.
If Clark isn't available for Saturday's contest, the Fever will again lean on its depth behind All-Stars Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston.
In Clark's absence, guards Lexi Hull and Aari McDonald have stepped up alongside veterans Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham, but with a difficult July stretch lying ahead, all eyes remain on Clark's return.
Over the next few weeks, the Fever will host the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream before heading out on the road for back-to-back matchups against the defending champion Liberty. Saturday's game against the Sparks begins at 7 p.m. ET.
