The 2025 season hasn’t been kind to the Connecticut Sun so far. They’ve dropped their first five games, and only two, against the Washington Mystics in the opener and the Minnesota Lynx in the third game, were close. The rest ended in losses of 20 points or more.
Now, the Sun are hoping to snap their losing streak when they face the Indiana Fever on the road Friday. Indiana enters at 2-3 but will be without their top scorer, Caitlin Clark. The Fever are coming off a narrow 83-77 loss to the Mystics.
Injuries have been an issue leaguewide, and Connecticut hasn’t been spared. On Thursday afternoon, the team’s official PR account released the following game status update for Friday’s matchup:
"Game Status Report at Indiana Fever- 5/30
Lindsay Allen- OUT (left hamstring)
Marina Mabrey- QUESTIONABLE (right quad)
Olivia Nelson-Ododa- QUESTIONABLE (right ankle)
Leila Lacan- NWT (overseas obligations)"

Marina Mabrey, the Sun’s second-leading scorer, is averaging 14.2 points and 3.2 assists per game. She trails only Tina Charles, who is averaging 17 points per game. Mabrey had a strong showing Tuesday, scoring 19 points.
Lindsay Allen has appeared in three of the Sun’s five games. Her last outing was a brief two-minute appearance on Friday against Minnesota. Earlier in the season, she started and logged 23 minutes in the opener against Washington, scoring six points. Her absence puts added pressure on the Sun’s already thin depth.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa is a key starter and ranks third on the team in scoring at 10.6 points per game. The 24-year-old played 25 minutes on Tuesday, recording six points and five rebounds. She has logged at least 20 minutes in all five games this season.
If multiple players are ruled out, expect Aneesah Morrow to see increased court time. The 22-year-old LSU product has played just 19 total minutes through the first five games but could be asked to step up.
After Friday’s matchup in Indiana, the Sun will stay on the road and head east to face the New York Liberty on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Fever will continue life without Caitlin Clark when they host the Mystics on Tuesday.
