After more than a year on the sidelines, Cameron Brink finally made her highly anticipated return from injury on Tuesday. It took the 23-year-old more than 13 months to fully recover from an ACL injury that cut what was a very promising rookie campaign short after just 15 games played.

Brink hasn’t exactly taken the WNBA by storm in her return to the court, but the important thing is that she’s finally doing the thing she loves again.

Cameron Brink Gets Emotional on Social Media

Brink took to Instagram on Saturday to share some photos of her recent comeback. The 6-foot-4 forward posted a series of pictures that showed just how happy she is to be back. Brink also made an emotional admission about how much it means to her.

“Missed it with my whole being ” she captioned her post.

WNBA World Rallies Behind Brink

Brink’s post quickly blew up online, with fans showing their support for the former Stanford star. Individuals from in and around the league have also rallied behind Brink as they shared their reactions to her long-awaited return.

"Great to see you out there" commented WNBA legend Lisa Leslie.

"We missed you " wrote the Sparks.

"yes maaaam " reacted Sparks teammate Azura Stevens.

"Welcome Back!!❤️" reacted Washington Mystics rookie Kiki Iriafen.

"" posted Nika Muhl of the Seattle Storm.

"welcome back sis! ✨" said former All-Star Chiney Ogwumike.

Brink Is Back

It does not come as a surprise that the Sparks have been cautious in bringing Brink back into the mix. After all, she’s missed a considerable amount of games, and she will need some time to regain her conditioning.

She’s come off the bench in her first two appearances, averaging 6.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in just 13.0 minutes of action.

It should only be a matter of time before Brink is able to get her legs under her, and she should be able to get her usual load back — she averaged 21.9 minutes last season — sooner rather than later.

Sparks Are on a Roll

L.A. has gone 1-1 in Brink’s return. They have, however, won seven out of their last 10 games, which now has them sitting on a 12-15 record.

The Sparks are currently still 10th in the WNBA, but it is worth noting that they are just 1.5 games behind the Las Vegas Aces for the eighth and final playoff spot in the league.

At this point, a postseason berth certainly isn’t out of the question for L.A., especially with Brink back in the mix.
