Unrivaled has had countless great performances with 30- to 40-point games. Players have also piled up more than five double-doubles in just the second week of the season. However, three players have stood out as the league’s best to start the season.

Top Performers

Dearica Hamby had the best performance so far, recording a 40-point double-double. She finished with 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting 69.6 percent from the field. It was Hamby’s first career 40-point game, coming against the Hive on January 11. The Vinyl led by 23 points in an 89-66 win. That result moved the Vinyl to 1-2 to start the season.

Kelsey Plum is next up, posting a near triple-double in a 94-60 win on January 10 against the Lunar Owls. Plum had 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists. She shot 72.7 percent from the field. It was the Phantom’s second matchup of the season and their first win. The victory moved the Phantom to 1-1 and into the fourth seed.

Lastly, Chelsea Gray is currently the only player to be named Player of the Game twice this season. She has two 30-plus-point games and has helped the Rose open 3-0. In her first game, Gray had 35 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists with 3 steals. The Rose beat the Lunar Owls 80-62. In her third game, she posted 37 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Rose beat the Breeze 73-69.

With so many standout performances this early, it is tough to pick one MVP favorite. Fans now wait to see who earns the next Player of the Game honor. Matchups are set for January 12 at 7:30 p.m. with Phantom vs. Mist and Lunar Owls vs. Laces.
