Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is already considered by many to be the face of the WNBA.
And while there’s several other young players including Angel Reese, Aliyah Boston, and Cameron Brink, who along with Clark, comprise the league’s next generation of stars, Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers may just be the WNBA’s next big draw.
The former UConn star, who the Wings took No. 1 overall in last month’s draft, has been compared to Clark plenty over the years. The duo were two of the top-rated recruits in the country back in 2020—Bueckers was No. 1 and Clark No. 4—and now they’re both helped bring more eyes to the WNBA than ever before.
In fact, Clark and Bueckers first matchup against each other this season is already shattering records for ticket sales.
The average ticket price for the June 27 game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse is currently $450 on Vivid Seats, and the cheapest court-side seats are going for $1,008 on Seat Geek, making it the most expensive ticket—regular season or postseason—in WNBA history.
Clutch Points reported that premium tickets from other third-party ticket brokers are even being sold for as much as $4,000, which surpasses the $3,000 court-side price for tickets to Luka Doncic’s first game back in Dallas earlier this year.
