Paige Bueckers has always been known for her lively, often hilarious mood, even in the face of formidable veterans. After Saturday’s WNBA All-Star, the Dallas Wings star’s antics went viral online, this time, her giving witty nicknames to teammates Kelsey Plum and Alyssa Thomas.

On her Instagram post, Bueckers shared photos with her fellow All-Stars from Team Collier. Seems normal on first glance, until the tags show up. The former UConn Husky, in one image, tagged Plum with the nickname “too.little.” She had a more killer alias for Thomas, calling her “gramps.”

Even Napheesa Collier, the All-Star captain, didn’t escape Paige Bueckers’ stunts, referring to her as “youngin” in another photo. Wasn’t as sharp, but still big-time comedy. The two even hit the court for a one-on-one before the Games, and Collier, also from UConn, sees a future MVP in Bueckers.

More of Bueckers’ All-Star squad quickly went to comment on her post.

“playa P. big rook not the little. it was a pleasure,” Kayla McBride wrote.

“Ight chill out with them tags now young blood,” Collier added.

“The babyyyy,” Courtney Williams said.

“pskiiiii,” Angel Reese remarked.

“Lockeddddd,” Plum wrote.

“big rook,” Sonia Citron added.

High-profile players showing their support speaks a lot about Paige Bueckers’ impact in just her rookie season in the WNBA. Not only does she captivate the players, but also fans, bringing more and more into the developing league. And while she didn’t score much in the recent All-Star Game, she remains a major presence on the court for her teammates.

With six points and eight assists in 22 minutes, Bueckers was enough for Team Collier to dominate the match, 151-131, and as fans said, it was one-sided from the start. Even the captain, Collier, fired up for the team.

Paige Bueckers is thankful for her first All-Star as a Rookie

Paige Bueckers’ debut at the All-Star Game was just more than an achievement, but a dream she had worked on since day one. She didn’t just play alongside elite talent — she started with them. After the game, she reflected on how surreal it felt to suit up with players she grew up admiring. Sharing the court with Collier and being coached by Cheryl Reeve was a full-circle moment she clearly cherished.

Gratitude has defined Paige Bueckers’ rookie campaign from the start. Days prior, she dubbed her current stint as a “blessing,” and felt honored to play for the Dallas Wings, despite their underwhelming standing. But for Bueckers, standings don’t matter, at least for now. She has all the time to meet her childhood heroes.
