Chicago Sky guard Hailey Van Lith and Indiana Fever center Makayla Timpson will remain busy amid the WNBA offseason.

Van Lith, who underwent surgery this offseason to address her bothersome ankle injury, averaged 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists on 12.4 minutes per game as a backup player for the Sky in her rookie season.

Timpson, on the other hand, played in 31 games for Indiana and put up 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds as a reserve.

While Van Lith is recovering from her injury and Timpson is playing overseas in the Czech Republic, both players have more in store on the basketball court in the months ahead.

On Wednesday, Unrivaled — the 3-on-3 women's basketball league founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart — announced its first-ever "Development Pool" that features six players.

The development pool consists of players who are ready to join any of the eight Unrivaled clubs on short notice, particularly in cases of injuries. The players will have access to training facilities like every other participant, but they won't be official members of any club. That means they can join multiple teams throughout the season, depending on need.

Van Lith and Timpson were selected to be part of the development pool, along with Dallas Wings guards Aziaha James and Haley Jones, Washington Mystics forward Emily Engstler and Golden State Valkyries forward Laeticia Amihere.

Considering the amount of games played by each team at Unrivaled, Van Lith and Timpson should get plenty of opportunities to suit up throughout the season.

Even better, they are not the only members of their respective WNBA teams to participate in the tournament. Sky veterans Rebecca Allen and Rachel Banham are also playing, as are Indiana Fever stars Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, Lexie Hull and Aari McDonald.

As mentioned, there are a total of eight teams in Unrivaled Season 2, with Breeze and Hive joining the founding squads: Vinyl, Laces, Phantom, Rose, Lunar Owls and Mist.

Unrivaled Season 2 kicks off on Jan. 5 in Miami. There will also be games played in Philadelphia.
