Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray has made history, earning the first-ever Unrivaled Finals MVP after leading Rose BC to victory in the championship game.
The Unrivaled announced Gray’s achievement with a celebratory Instagram post, sharing photos of her emotional moment receiving the prestigious trophy.
“Introducing your Unrivaled Championship MVP: CHELSEA GRAY,” the league proudly captioned.
Gray’s road to this milestone was nothing short of remarkable. She averaged 28.5 points and 6.0 assists throughout the semifinal and championship rounds, proving instrumental in Rose BC’s success.
In the final showdown, she recorded 18 points, three rebounds and eight assists as Rose BC triumphed over Vinyl 62-54. Brittney Sykes and Azurá Stevens also played key roles, scoring 21 and 19 points, respectively.
Unrivaled commissioner Micky Lawler presented Gray with the Finals MVP trophy following the championship win.
When later asked how she wanted her critics to view her now, Gray responded confidently.
"Keep that same energy. ... I got the receipts who's talking [explicit],” she said, as shared by Bleacher Report on YouTube.
“They counted us as six coming into this thing,” she said, reflecting on their journey. “It’s a testament to my team, and I couldn’t win MVP without them.”
Despite facing adversity, including injuries to key teammates like Reese, Gray and Rose BC refused to back down. They embraced the challenge and delivered a championship performance that will be remembered in Unrivaled history.
With this victory, Gray has once again proven why she is one of the most elite guards in basketball. The Unrivaled Finals MVP is just another accolade in a career defined by perseverance, talent and an unshakable will to win.
