Three-on-three basketball, better known as 3x3, is a fast-paced game played only in the half court. Each team has three players on the court and one substitution on the bench.
There is a single 10-minute period, with a 12-second shot clock. The game is won when a team either reaches 21 points or has more points when the 10-minute period is over.
If teams are tied at the end of regulation, the first team to score two points in overtime wins the game.
Anything scored inside the arc is worth one point and anything scored outside the arc is worth two.
The sport continues to grow in popularity both in the U.S. and around the world, as there are 208 men's national teams and 183 women's national teams in the world rankings.
This was the ninth edition of the 3x3 World Cup and 3x3 just became an official Olympic sport with its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
