Watch Angel Reese Rile Up Dallas Crowd With Teasing ‘Too Small’ Celebration

Angel Reese was the headline signing of the WNBA offseason, and it is not taking her much time to prove her worth. Her presence was felt on both ends of the floor as the Atlanta Dream beat the Dallas Wings 77-72 on Tuesday night.

In the first quarter itself, the 6’3″ forward gave the “too small” gesture to Dallas after securing an offensive rebound and scoring the put-back. She received a chorus of boos from the Wings’ fans in attendance.

It was a game of improvements for Reese, who finished with a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds, controlling the paint for almost the entire night.

This comes after she admitted her debut to be a “rough” game against the Minnesota Lynx. Despite scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds, she went 4-for-11 from the field and just 3-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Speaking postgame after her debut, though, Reese thanked her new organisation for instilling faith in her after a tough time on the court.

“My team always believes in me. They put a lot of confidence into me. My coaches put a lot of confidence into me and just compelled me to keep going and keep going,” Reese said.

Reese repaid that faith against Dallas after going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. She also completed 50% of her field-goal attempts.

Apart from Reese, other notable players on the box score included Allisha Gray with 26 points and four three-pointers. Over on the Wings’ side, Arike Ogunbowale finished with 20, and Paige Bueckers added 15.

While others played their part, Reese was undeniably the most complete player on the hardwood. She dominated both ends of the floor to record a double-double.

Angel Reese is the Double-Double Queen of the WNBA

In just two games under her belt this season, Reese has already secured two double-doubles.

She scored 11 points and 14 rebounds in her Dream debut before tallying another 12 points and 16 rebounds with increased efficiency against Dallas.

However, this is not a surprising stat for Reese, who is notably dubbed the double-double queen of the league.

In her first two seasons, Reese surpassed the legendary Tina Charles in double-doubles after tallying her 46th last August. Before coming to Atlanta, she had just one more career double left to complete the half-century.

And in her Dream debut on Saturday, Reese became the fastest player in WNBA history to complete 50 double-doubles. She achieved the feat in just 65 games.

Tina Charles still holds the all-time record with a staggering 201 double-doubles. But with Reese’s efficiency, she might not take long to equal Charles, with already 51 double-doubles in her career.
