Caitlin Clark is currently facing a struggle almost every fan might know about: her surprisingly underwhelming performances on the court. While the Indiana Fever star remains the lifeline of the team, she’s not producing the same offense as usual in the past games, a heavy surprise given that she had impressive flashes after returning from her injury.
Despite her teammate’s challenges, particularly at her three-point shooting, Lexie Hull makes it clear that the Fever will always back Caitlin Clark and that even superstars face hindrances on the court.
“She’ll be fine. We are not worried about it. She’s a great shooter, great player, this happens to every great player,” Hull said.

In reference, Caitlin Clark was sidelined due to a left quad problem but returned after missing five games. She shot 11 out of 20 from the field in her first two in her return, only for that to go downhill since. In her last three matches, the former Iowa standout only shot one three-pointer out of 23 attempts; moreover, she only shot 23.1% in Tuesday’s 94-86 victory against the Seattle Storm, getting six points, but had eight turnovers.
Moreover, Clark had gone one out of 28 three-pointers in all her away games since the start of the season while having 22-out-of-50 at home. While this doesn’t mean that the superstar guard only shows flashes on the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, such a stat remains concerning for many.
Turnovers are also a massive problem for the former Iowa standout. She is leading the league in turnovers per game, with 5.9, deeply, and concerningly beating players like Angel Reese, Chelsea Grey, and Kelsey Plum, the second leaders, by giving up 3.4 possessions per game.
Speaking in the post-game interview on the Fever’s Sunday loss against the Las Vegas Aces , head coach Stephanie White highlighted Caitlin Clark’s struggles on the court while stressing that the team is undergoing adjustments to let their superstar guard handle the ball more.
“I think the biggest thing is what we as a staff have to do to get her better looks, higher quality looks,” White said. “Every [opponent’s] game plan is going to be to make her score inside the three-point line, right? And the different ways they’re going to do that. Physicality, coverage, showing bodies, all the different things. We have to do a better job of getting her higher-quality looks.”
“I’m not worried about Caitlin’s shot. Caitlin’s shot is going to be just fine. The things I’m worried about is our 18 turnovers for 28 [Aces] points.”

Whether the Fever’s plan for Caitlin Clark works or not is still uncertain. But fans could just hope that the WNBA sophomore will show another electrifying performance on Thursday’s match against the LA Sparks.
