MATCHUP NOTES

It's been a tough season for the Dallas Wings (8-19), but there have been some bright spots.

One of them came on Monday night as the Wings led the defending champion New York Liberty by 33 points at halftime in a 92-82 victory.

Rookie star Paige Bueckers scored 20 points as the Wings bounced back from a 26-point loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.

The Atlanta Dream (15-11) head to the Lone Star State following a tough 77-75 home defeat to the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday. It was a tough scheduling spot for the Dream, who returned home following a 3-0 road trip out of the All-Star break.

One thing the Dream have done well this season is bouncing back off a loss. Atlanta is 8-2 off a defeat, including a perfect 3-0 mark off a home setback.

HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHUPS

Atlanta got off to a slow start in the first matchup with Dallas on May 24 at home. The Dream turned a one-point deficit after 10 minutes into a seven-point halftime lead and ultimately an 83-75 triumph.

The Wings cruised past the Dream in their second meeting, 68-55 as 8.5-point home underdogs on June 24. Atlanta shot a dreadful 23% from the field, including 7-of-34 from 3-point range.

Dallas connected on only 2-of-13 shots from downtown, while Bueckers scored 12 points. The Wings were paced by Arike Ogunbowale's 21 points, while Atlanta center Brittney Griner was held to two points.

To show how bad of an offensive performance that was for Atlanta, their second-lowest scoring total of the season was 72 points, coming against Las Vegas and New York.

FIRST QUARTER BETTING TRENDS

In spite of the fact Atlanta trailed Golden State after one quarter on Tuesday, the Dream still possesses the best first quarter record in the league at 18-8. Atlanta has been dynamite on the road in the first quarter, owning a spectacular 11-3 mark.

Dallas has led through the first quarter in seven of 13 home games, while posting a 9-4 mark against the spread.

In the first meeting, the Wings led the Dream, 19-18 through 10 minutes. In the most recent contest, Dallas jumped out to a 19-10 advantage, as both times the first quarter finished Under the total.

BETTING PREDICTION

Atlanta has a quick turnaround after a surprising home loss to Golden State. However, the Dream will be motivated for a better showing and will look to avenge the previous loss to Dallas.

Meanwhile, the Wings shot lights out early against the Liberty on Monday, but face an Atlanta squad that ranks third in the WNBA in defensive effective field goal percentage on the road at 48.1%.

Best Bet: Dream -4.5 (DraftKings)
